The BellAholic Candidate Articles of Imbibement
Why be a member of the BellAholics?
- Drink beer with friends! (Why drink alone?) The BellAholics meet at various "beverage activity locations" published on web pages that each area separately maintains. A Beverage Activity can be any outing, such as a party, camping, inner-tubing, taking a weekend plane flight to some city, etc. The only thing these events all have in common are BellAholics drinking at them.
- YOU make desicions on WHEN and WHERE BellAholics meet to drink! It is the individual members that put suggestions on their local Beverage Activity Calendar.
So, are you still interested? OK, read on! These are the official BellAholic Candidate Articles of Imbibement!
ARTICLE I.
The "candidate" must PROVE that he or she exists by sending an email platform, announcing a beverage activity and then showing up for the beverage activity.
ARTICLE II.
A vote will be taken. Only BellAholic members vote. The candidate is advised to use this time to promote their campaign platform.
ARTICLE III.
If a majority of BellAholics vote YES, the new candidate is officially accepted as a member.
OK, that was pretty high-faluting talk there, but at least it was brief. Here is a step-by-step breakdown.
- Develop a platform. This can be a "why you want to be a BellAholic" statement, drinking stories, ... the only important part is the time(s) and place(s) where you will buy beers to bribe for the YES votes....
- Email your platform to the one of the BellAholics, or (preferrably) to the Beer Meister, with your intent to join who will send it out to the entire list (or send it yourself if you are already a list member)
- Show up and meet the BellAholics, charm is good, but buying beer is better.
- Any member who has met you is allowed one vote. After the event, the Beer Meister tallies up the yes and no votes (via e-mail) and the majority rules.
If you're not voted in (which has never happened) you can always try again. Again, if you are interested, email one of the BellAholics, or email the BellAholics' Beer Meister.
Alright then! Good luck!
